October Already??

October can be a down “fall” of the Fall semester. Stay on your toes so you won’t “fall” midway through the semester. Be on the track, plan a head and stay motivated!

The month of October has a lot of distractions as well as upcoming major assignments and exams. Plus this is the middle semester so progress reports come out (100/200 level classes). Typical October distractions: Fall break, Homecoming, Halloween and maybe even personal distractions. While these are your distractions, your classes have midterms, the add/drop date is approaching, and you kind of have a feel on how these are going to go. If anything I would call it “Optional October.”

What’s going on? Now school has started, and you are kind of getting used to somethings. Did you explore campus, maybe enjoy some outside activities, but now this is the time to get things put in the right places.

So here are some options to be successful for the Month of October.

  1. Be on the track… to be on track. Keep up to date with all your classes, talk to your professors, see what needs to be done to finish off successfully. (Set goals )
  2. Plan Head: Don’t “fall” behind. Know what assignments are due around homecoming, get things done before fall break starts, and prepare for the end of the semester.
  3. Keep Motivation: It’s only half way through the semester, DO NOT BURN OUT! Find different things to stay positive. Motivational speakers, self-incentives, maybe even sticky notes with positive quotes. Stay motivated !
