With the pandemic causing a shortage of funds, most internet and phone service providers are not disconnecting their customers for nonpayment. However, some providers are going the extra mile by offering limited time free services.
** NOTE: Some waivers and services are being automatically applied to current customers, while others require a request from you to your service provider(s). Those who are not current customers may have to qualify as a limited-income household. Though few services listed below are available to non-subscribers as well.
- Comcast is offering free unlimited data and access to its Xfinity WiFi hot spots for everyone, including non-subscribers, for 60 days. Late fees for current customers will also be waived. https://corporate.comcast.com/covid-19
- Cox Communications is offering 30 days of free ($9.95/month thereafter) internet service, along with phone and remote desktop support, through their Connect2Compete program. - T-Mobile is providing its current customers with unlimited smartphone data (excluding roaming) and an additional 20 GB of mobile hotspot service for the next 60 days. http://bit.ly/2020TMobile
