During this transition to being at home, the hardest part for some of us is sticking to a regular schedule. It is hard to go from a regimented routine and in-person classes, to now staying up all hours of the night and living through our devices. If you’re struggling with this too, here are some tips that can help:
- Use your school planner, or a calendar, to keep track of assignments. Having a way to cross off the days of the week can also be helpful if days start to blur together.
- Maintain a morning routine! Whatever routine you had when things were normal can be continued now.
- Make “To Do” lists. These can be a list for the week, or daily, and are useful to keep yourself from getting overwhelmed with tasks to complete.
- Plan an activity to do with your family, or remotely with friends, on a specific day of the week. It can be a TV show, movie night, or a game night; just something to look forward to and help you stay positive.
- Limit your social media use, limit your social media use, limit your so-……..you get the point. This is the most important tip of all because social media can be a major distraction right now. There is a different story or theory posted about 3 minutes, so don’t let yourself get sucked up into the media’s trap too easily.
