Instructions
Your professional philosophy will bring together different statements and philosophies that you have created throughout the MLIS Program. This combined statement is your view of the field of LIS and how you fit into that field. You will need to speak both broadly about the LIS field and specifically to your area of concentration or expertise in LIS.

• You should highlight your views on the values and ethics of libraries that you believe are important to your future work.
• Your philosophy should be based on knowledge and experience with diverse communities, diverse learning styles, the physical and intellectual abilities and needs of all learners, and lifelong learning.
• You should include examples from your experience and coursework to demonstrate how you will be as a professional and how you will contribute to the contexts and communities which you will be working with in the future.
