With the playoffs coming around the corner there is nothing better than to watch the games with your friends enjoying a couple of drinks. What better place to do that than at a sports bar, right? For my event I want to throw together a watch party at a local sports bar. Since my Pen Pal lives in Chicago it will have to be a Chicago Sports Bar. I will use Mario’s platform which is the CHGO Blackhawks Podcast on YouTube and Spotify to help promote the event. With using a local bar it will be pretty easy to find one that will help put the event together. I know that the CHGO team has had events at a Chicago Bar called “The Barn” before and The Barn supported everything they needed, from a large seating area to catering for a large group. This event is not complicated at all but is a very useful event to help include the community in the CHGO team.
The CHGO team is Chicago based hence the Blackhawks sweaters in the images above. If we are imagining this event currently it would be sort of hard to bring in a large Blackhawks fanbase as the hawks are not in the playoffs. To help with this issue that could largely effect the turnout, I imagine there is a discount night or free snacks, something around that line to influence people to come. For example, everyone loves beer and hockey, so if the Bar had $2.99 pitchers that night it would help bring in a lot of people.
Overall, this event is not made to make CHGO money but to let them get more involved in the community. Something that Mario Tirabassi has expressed to me that he wants to do more of. This event brings attention to the CHGO Podcast and “The Barn”, its a fun uncomplicated event that would be easy to put together.
