The market has more demand than people leading to starting salaries in the low hundred thousand. Many people believe that cybersecurity is too difficult for them leaving many open positions in the field. Job locations also a major role in cyberspace. A lot of people are looking for jobs that pay high salaries in low-cost-of-living cities. The presentations spoke in depth about how major cities all play a role in where it would be best to get a job. Cities like New York pay a higher salary but the cost of living is so high, making it a worse choice than Austin Texas. Austin has a high starting salary but Texas has better tax laws and a much lower cost of living than other large cities. The presentation also mentioned other markets such as Boston where the tech field is very competitive. There are a lot of Ivy League schools in Boston making entry-level positions more competitive and not as smart as other cities. The job outlook for cybersecurity is getting better and better as the position is expected to grow by thirty-one percent in the years to come.
