The article shows how the next type of warfare is becoming an online one. Information warfare has been an increasing challenge for countries all over the world. There is no one right way to fight this war but the effects are just as devastating as any other type of war. This articles relates to some of my experiences as I was in the military. We often were required to take courses and preventative measures to protect ourselves and the information systems around us. This experience gave me a background in potential cyber threats and how to respond to them. Cyber warfare has been seen in small and large ways. Some countries hack power grids or major companies and others influence political campaigns. This type of warfare has been becoming increasingly dangerous. With governments still lacking proper laws and policies on cyber laws, criminal organizations, and bad countries are always one step ahead. It is only a matter of time before a major country launches a major cyber attack on another major country leading to an all-out violent war. With the proper information, they can seriously affect a country’s population on beliefs and culture without losing a single person in battle. Russia has been leading the cyber attack field as they have been all over the news in recent years for attacks and their recent war in Ukraine. They have been effectively using cyber warfare to achieve political and military objectives. Most people don’t believe in the power of information warfare, but it has been seen to be as costly as a nuclear bomb itself when used in terrible circumstances.
