Biomass Research Laboratory is located in Kaufman Hall rooms 243A-D, 258 and 259 (ODU Civil and Environmental Engineering Labs). It is equipped with fume hoods and small equipment. An additional 3000 square feet of common laboratory space is shared with other civil/environmental engineering faculty. The laboratory houses high temperature and high-pressure reactors for conducting experimental studies using sub- and supercritical water (hydrothermal) technology for biofuels and biochar production from lignocellulosic biomass / microalgae.
