CYBERSECURITY ETHICS (PHIL 355E)
This course was very impactful for me because it helped me understand how ethics play a crucial role in cybersecurity, especially in leadership positions. Leaders must make ethically responsible decisions by thinking critically, acting with integrity, and considering the broader impact of their actions on organizations and society. This course helped me see cybersecurity from the lens of various ethical framework.
In this course, I analyzed several case studies through different ethical frameworks, such as Kantian deontology and the ethics of care, to evaluate situations critically and determine the most ethical course of action. This experience helped me better understand why certain actions are ethically wrong while others are considered acceptable. It also strengthened my ability to evaluate situations from both ethical and professional perspectives. This is an especially important skill in cybersecurity, where professionals are often entrusted with sensitive information and must act responsibly, ethically, and with integrity.
