My second practice lab project includes implementing a plant-based diet in a community or workplace of my choice while also describing unhealthy diet practices and their health risk. Key questions include unhealthy eating habits in your society/workplace and how you can implement a plant-based diet in your community/workplace. The methods I used were first observing all unhealthy eating habits at my job and then using critical thinking skills to decide how I would convert my office to plant-based while also describing the benefits. The recommendations for my office were adding my plates in the kitchen and changing the vending machine from sugary snacks and drinks to water and fruits and vegetables. Another suggestion was sending booklets home on the health risk of consuming too much red meat, processed food, and snacks and the health advantages of converting to plant-based. The public health significance of this project was to identify health risks while implementing interventions to combat them.
