My professional pen pal is Alyshia Allison, the assistant athletic marketing director for ODU sports. I got in contact with her because she used to be my boss. I had an internship with the marketing athletic department for three semesters, and because of this, it was easy to reach out to her because we had already developed a bond over those semesters. 

Alyshia Allison was officially named Assistant AD for marketing and promotion last May. She manages all the day-to-day operations and was my top overseer. Alyshia coordinates and supervises all in-game marketing tasks, halftime entertainment, and special event promotions for all 18 revenue and non-revenue sporting events across campus. She serves as the primary point of contact for all athletic marketing needs and is a liaison for the athletic band. She oversees ODU Cheer and Dynasty Dance. She also manages the fulfillment of social media and in-game sponsorship activation. She focuses on developing strategies that improve fan attendance and engagement, contributing to maximizing the overall game-day fan experience.

Before her current position, Alyshia was an Assistant Marketing Coordinator here at ODU back in 2019 and earned her Master of Science degree in Sports Management in 2021. She got her Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with two minors in business management and Marketing at Campbell University in 2019.  While she was at Campbell University, Alyshia was on the women’s basketball team.
