The Monarch Saxophone Studio welcomed the Ensemble du Bout du Monde (EBM) Saxophone Quartet for an inspiring week of music, learning, and collaboration at the ODU Diehn School of Music.
Formed by musicians from across the globe, EBM embodies the idea that music transcends borders. Their visit was a reminder that art connects people beyond culture, language, and geography, uniting us through shared sound and expression. Members include:
Noa Mick – soprano
Simona Castria – alto
Salvatore Castellano – tenor
Don-Paul Kahl – baritone
During their masterclass, EBM shared insight into ensemble balance, phrasing, and artistic communication, encouraging students to think deeply about musical storytelling and the power of listening. Their performance showcased the contemporary expressive range of the saxophone, blending precision, color, and emotion in a demanding program.
We are truly grateful for their artistry, generosity, and the inspiration they brought to every student and listener!
