About Us

Students research primary sources during a class instruction session in the Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room

Old Dominion University Libraries’ Special Collections and University Archives preserve, share, and promote the Libraries’ unique and most rare holdings for use by the university’s academic community, visiting scholars, and the general public. We support the University’s academic program and its instructional and research interests, document the cultural heritage of the Coastal Virginia region, and maintain the historical record of ODU.

Our collections are for everyone! While ODU’s campus is closed for the safety of our students, staff, and researchers during the COVID-19 outbreak, we are bringing our collections to you virtually on the blog and in our digital collections! https://dc.lib.odu.edu/

Our archivists are also available for virtual instruction and reference services using our digital archives collections via email: libspecialcollections@odu.edu
