Weekly Blog 10
I feel I achieved the different learning objectives by doing the readings and blog entries. In the beginning of the course, I feel I was more closed minded to certain cultures traditions or customs. If I must take this class, I will work on assignment sooner and have them completed way before the deadline. I’ve grown academically from the knowledge I leaned in this class. A skill I gained is a better form of understanding. Instead of just judging someone it’s better to talk or discuss things too get a better understand of a situation or person.

The three things I learned from this course learning about other cultures in general, Different personalities, and gender roles/stereotypes. Certain blog entries workout with my top artifacts. When we discuss certain things, it might also relate to the top artifact and makes it easier to relate. In cross-cultural psychology, emotions are Transient, neurophysiological reaction to events and in social psychology its states that comprise thoughts and feelings.

Weekly Blog 7:
I don’t think fairy tales reflect any cultural norms or values. An example of a main character showing egalitarian role would be Robin hood. He stole from the rich and gave to needy. Even though he stole from the rich he didn’t really treat them differently than he did the poor people. Dr. Dolittle was a character who influenced me positively. He showed that there is nothing wrong with being strange or different. You can find a positive way to use it and help people (or animals).

Weekly Blog 6:
I use autonomy academically in discussion board assignments. I get to express my thoughts and others reply saying they agree or disagree. It means that what I had to say was valued in a way. Competence academically is participating in classes. Its when we apply out knowledge and learn in the courses we are taking. Relatedness academically is used in discussions boards as well. When u find someone, and you always agree with their views. You’ll try to make sure you read their responses to certain questions or topics.

I picked this image because of autonomy. Being self-directed and not letting things slow you down
Weekly Blog 5:
1,2,3,5,7,8 is associated with independent construal of self. 4,6,9 and 10 are associated with interdependence construal of self. I believe I am more independent than interdependent. Independent self- Lone wolf. Interdependent self- apart of the family. The easier of the two was independent self. I think it’s easier because it’s a word we hear often versus interdependent. I used the idea of family because its relatable.

Weekly Blog 4:
I missed the exam due to poor planning on my part. I thought I had more time to complete the exam after work. I did augment my notes to try and make them better and so I’d be prepared.

Weekly Blog 3:
I stacked up differently than what I thought I would. My highest score was in Neuroticism and my lowest was in Extraversion and Conscientiousness. Openness and Agreeableness were average score. My personality is inconsistent because of my surroundings and people I engage with. Openness shows how I can be stuck in my ways about somethings, but I’m open to new ways if it makes sense. Conscientiousness is when I go with the flow of my day. I like to be spontaneous with my decisions instead of planning. Agreeableness example would be relationships. I can be agreeable and trust but also stubborn sometimes. Extraversion in me when I decide to go places. I am an introvert and I like to be alone. Neuroticism deal with me trusting people. It can be very upsetting when someone lets you down and you really believed in them.

I chose this image because it’s word that I’ve heard describe to and I see why they describe me in that way.
Weekly Blog 2:
I feel the reason I pursued higher education was to be different. I wanted to do something that many people didn’t do. In my family many people didn’t go to college. The ones that did attend college never finished the associate’s level of education. You don’t need a degree to be successful at life but its an accomplishment. My parents believed in me and helped motivate me to give school a try. Many people in my life have supported my goals when it came to education. A few peers and friends didn’t and that’s okay. It gave me the motivation to continue to push just so they could see me make it.

We all started off as kids graduating to the next level of education. We don’t have to stop after high school.
Weekly Blog 1:
The course objectives will help me learn about other cultures. It’s important to understand different views and cultures different from your own. I expect to be able to enhance my knowledge in psychology and other cultures views. Gaining an understanding of other cultures views are important to me. My biggest strategy is to stay on top of all assignments. Between life, work and school it can get overwhelming but I’m pushing to succeed in this class and my education.

I chose this image because it tells you the key things you need when it comes to psychology no matter the culture.
