As a student-athlete, one of the most important things I’ve learned is how to blend my on-court persona with who I am off the court. Media days, where my athletic side shines, are an important part of this, but I also value the more delicate, sweeter side of myself in other aspects of my life. Creating this balanced identity has been a journey of self-expression, confidence, and authenticity.
When I get on the court or attend media days, I know I need to exude strength, devotion, and attention. This is where I express my athletic persona, which embodies power, impact, and dedication. The way I dress, carry myself, and interact with my teammates and the media all represent the hard work and dedication that comes with being an athlete. These moments are about demonstrating the drive and fortitude required to compete at the top level. It’s more than simply the game; it’s about demonstrating what it takes to achieve in a world where players are expected to push themselves every day.

One of the most exciting parts of my journey has been collaborating with merch brands that represent both sides of my personality. On media days and in promotional content, I can wear sports gear that demonstrates my love for the game and dedication. Off the court, I love taking candid photos that reflect the softer, sweeter girl within me. Whether it’s comfortable and cute casual wear or toasty accessories, the goal is to create something that feels true to who I am both on and off the court.
However, when I take the jersey off and the media focus has faded, I revert to my off-court persona. This is when the softer, sweeter aspect of my personality comes into play. Off the court, I enjoy connecting with people on a more human level. I’m enthusiastic about self-care, optimism, and being genuine to who I am. This part of me values the softer qualities of my personality, such as my loving and sensitive disposition. I understand how vital it is to present myself as personable, down-to-earth, and relatable—because, at the end of the day, I am a person with values, experiences, and feelings.

Through this balance, I’ve learnt that it’s okay to have different elements of myself. I’m not just an athlete, nor am I just a “sweet girl.” I am both, and I am proud to demonstrate this complexity to everyone else. It’s all about being authentic, remaining grounded, and accepting all of who I am.
