• Entiendo que para lograr acuerdos comerciales en países de habla hispana, no basta con solo hablar español. Comprender la cultura y el contexto puede conducir a cualidades de liderazgo favorables y relaciones laborales positivas.
• Es importante conocer los tipos de empresa, la jerarquía dentro de la empresa, los métodos preferidos de comunicación y las prácticas diarias que se ajustan a la cultura y al contexto locales.
• Considero tener las cualidades de liderazgo necesarias para hacer que un equipo sea exitoso. También, es necesario comprender los modelos de gestión, estos son esenciales en el cumplimiento de las metas.
• Habiendo vivido en México y EEUU, he sido participe en métodos para fomentar la diversidad.
• La contabilidad, el ambiente de la oficina y los recursos humanos son todos responsables de mantener las operaciones en una empresa. Estos departamentos se aseguran de que los empleados sean tratados con ética y se les brinde oportunidades de crecimiento. Al mismo tiempo, facilitan la comunicación y promueven la diversidad.

Metalanguage specific to conducting business in Spanish-speaking countries, while creating awareness in cultural relativism, can translate into various opportunities of established, intercultural communication. Spanish speaking countries convey and negotiate meaning via linguistic tools which often vary from English speaking counterparts since concepts such as the mainstream culture, globalizing aspects, and ethnic perspectives weigh in decision making strategies at a different frequency. Ultimately, communication is initiated, maintained, and concluded while prioritizing a different set of values. Throughout the course, I engaged in establishing written communication in order to portray these distinct strengths.

Additionally, I was able to debate, defend, and support different points of view while collaborating with classmates over discussion board assignments. The topics for these assignments included: gender inequalities, contrasts between what is legal and what is ethical, how to develop healthy financial habits, the advantages of cultural diversity in business, and how a country’s cultural identity can impact how businesses are created in competitive, global markets.

Dicción: conversación interpersonal

Negotiating meaning with a bilingual voice goes beyond simply translating word for word. Accurate, authentic communication involves interpreting concepts that correlate culture and language to a variety of regions throughout Latin America. In order to explore these perspectives, I participated in interpersonal communication with classmates.

Comprensión de lectura y redacción cronometrada

Weekly evaluations challenged me to perform in all language skill areas: reading comprehension, timed writing assignments, memorization and application of new concepts, expanding vocabulary in the target language, and listening activities over an online platform. The timed piece associated with these assignments challenged me to engage in authentic dialogue and revise written-work efficiently. As time went by and I had continued exposure to these assignments, meeting the timed deadline became easier until I had enough time left to conduct multiple revisions before submitting the finalized work.

The following activities have contributed to my mnemonic devices, spontaneous conversational skills, and unprompted essays topic elaboration:

Mock job interviews with other native, Spanish speakers

Al participar en actividades comunicativas, he desarrollado una visión íntegra del lenguaje. Mis tendencias lingüísticas van asociadas a una pronunciación neutral que algunas veces recae en un acento coloquial de México. Sin embargo, al interactuar con un compañero de Puerto Rico, la profesora de España y otros individuos de Latinoamérica, he tenido repetidas ocasiones para agregar a mi conocimiento sintáctico, fonético y gramatical. Esta variedad en pronunciación me brindará la oportunidad de ayudarles a crear un conocimiento del idioma más elaborado a mis futuros alumnos, equipandoles con una variedad de perspectivas europeas y latinoamericanas.

Being part of communicative activities, has allowed me to develop a thorough vision of the Spanish language. My linguistic tendencies are associated with a neutral pronunciation which sometimes leans on colloquial sounds from Mexico. However, interacting with a classmate from Puerto Rico, the professor from Spain, and other Latin-American individuals, I have had ample opportunities to provide my future students elaborated, phonemical awareness, equipped with European and Latin-American pronunciations.

Investigación y recopilación de datos

Persuasive and descriptive writing have challenged me to make statements, support them with research, and inform an audience about the financial advantages Mexico has over other countries for foreign investors. Through this assignment, I exemplified Mexico’s economic sectors, discussed the country’s indigenous origins, contrasted how folk culture resists its globalizing counterpart, talked about currency exchanges, and correlated various texts in order to produce a thorough discussion about the evolution of Spanish within Mexico’s territory. Furthermore, I illustrated the importance of Nahuatl in Spanish and how Latin-American countries built their cultural identities around religious beliefs, exposure to geography and gastronomy, and technological advances.
