For my final pen pal project, I propose creating a digital content series titled “Peak Performance” in collaboration with my pen pal, Jimal Deas. This project will focus on providing expert insights into injury prevention, recovery, and performance optimization for athletes and entertainers. The content will be designed specifically for digital platforms, primarily Instagram to educate and engage a broad audience while highlighting Jimal’s expertise as a performance therapist in the field. Jimal Deas is driven by a desire to help others become their best selves, physically and mentally, in high-performance environments. His passion for what he does and performance wellness makes him a valuable mentor and resource for this project.
“Peak Performance” will be a series of short-form videos, infographics, and/or posts that will feature many different things. Injury recovery routines will be one part of the series, this will demonstrate stretches, tools, and techniques athletes and entertains can use post-training. We will also include performance optimization tips which includes practical advice for staying healthy and maximizing output. One last part of the series would be light storytelling about Jimal’s work with athletes, this will emphasize the human side of high-level performance and give you a glimpse into Jimal’s everyday work. Each piece of content will be designed to educate and inspire followers, shareable and accessible to all levels of athletes and entertainers, and be visually engaging and on-brand with his company
Through our ongoing communication, I have learned that Jimal is passionate about educating and helping people beyond the professionals he helps out daily. Inspired by his mission and experience, I felt like this project could add value to his brand.Our goal with this project is to Leverage Jimal’s real-world experience and brand to create compelling, helpful content for athletes and entertainers. Apply skills learned in class (media strategy, content creation, promotion) to a real-world initiative. Produce a professional-quality campaign that can be shared publicly and provide value to both Jimal’s audience and my own career development.
This project bridges classroom knowledge with real-world application, giving me a chance to work with a respected professional while also contributing to his brand and community. “Peak Performance” is a mutually beneficial collaboration that aligns with both Jimal’s goals and the objectives of this course.
