This paper analyzes a GDIT Information Security Analyst Principal position to identify the technical knowledge, Risk Management Framework experience, communication skills, and professional judgment expected in a senior defense cybersecurity role. I compared the position’s requirements with my current education and professional experience, identified areas where my background provides a relevant foundation, and examined the additional skills I would need to develop for a transition into formal information assurance and cybersecurity risk management.
