Journal Entry #14 (Digital Forensic Investigator)

A digital forensic investigator collects and analyzes various types of electronic data that can be presented in the court of law. Most of the work is done covertly, investigators will go on operations that only few people are aware of. Then the work becomes overt once the court gets involved and open investigations are granted.

David Teo began his work in a small accounting firm and during his time he was asked to help in the IT department with their networks. As he continued this work in IT he grew love for it and was later granted an opportunity to work at the first national digital forensic operation in australia. As a result, Teo knew this was going to be the field for him.

In conclusion, David Teo’s story is a prime example of why you should never be close minded and have all your eggs in one basket. He started off in a completely different job before finding the one that was right for him. And it was all done through new opportunities and the willingness to work.
