- Money – According to a new Atlas VPN report, cybercriminals are already making more than billion-dollar enterprises. According to the company’s researchers, cyberattacks let criminals gain more than $1.5 trillion in income each year, which is three times the $514 billion Walmart makes each year.
- Political – Members of extremist and radical groups on both sides of the political spectrum who use the Internet to spread propaganda, attack the Web sites and networks of their political opponents, steal money to fund their militant activities, or plan and coordinate their “real-world” activities are examples of politically motivated cybercriminals.
- Revenge – Blue Hat. Vengeful and aggressive in every way- but only if you create them. Motives: Revenge. Aims: Blue Hat hackers often take existing code for malware and viruses they find online, then modify it to meet their needs.
- Recognize – Cybercriminals may have been outcasted/excluded in their regular lives so committing cyber crime gives them a chance to have a platform
