In our first meeting with our meeting with our advisor, he outlined the overall tasks of the project, as well as provided us with some resources to brainstorm some ideas. We started off by discussing the requirements that it by a Y6 rotor drone, be made of square aluminum, and have a lift capacity of at least 50lbs. The initial design of the Y6 drone that was utilized in the demonstration is not sacred and can be entirely redesigned if we see fit. Resources that were presented to us for this project include, FEA software such as solid works, a laser cutting table to cut out small pieces of material, as well as a waterjet table to cut out the lattice structure on the aluminum tubing. Our first course of action will be to collect several lattice structure designs as well as several motor choices to experiment with on our FEA software and ECALC respectively.
