In our last meeting we were able to successfully construct the hinges for the access doors for the safety cage that will be used to house the RCbenchmark equipment for propeller and motor testing. now the task of actually operating the software was delegated to another team member. next facet of this drone development was the overall drone frame design. admittedly, I was not personally intimately familiar with the nuances of Y6 drone frame design at the beginning of this project. however, our graduate assistant was instrumental in helping our team to make sound decisions in this frame design process. mainly being the 1/3 rule for propeller placement in order to ensure equal motor strain. this basically outlines that the front two propeller is to be half as far away from the center of gravity at the single tail propeller. this was unknown to the team and would have required us to undergo essentially a complete redesign of our frame had we not considered this. additionally, we looked at other sources on the internet of already existing Y6 drone frames on order to have a wider variety of ideas that we could incorporate into our design.
