Youth Risk and Resilience Lab

Welcome to the Youth Risk and Resilience (YR²) Lab!

The Youth Risk and Resilience (YR²) Lab at Old Dominion University (Director: Dr. Cassie Glenn) is dedicated to research that aims to improve the mental health and well-being of youth. The YR² Lab’s research focuses on a range of self-harming behaviors in youth, including suicidal (e.g., suicide attempts) and nonsuicidal self-injury (e.g., nonsuicidal cutting). With a foundation in clinical psychological science, the YR² Lab is specifically interested in understanding the psychological processes that lead to suicidal and self-injurious behaviors, improving identification of risk for these behaviors, and clarifying modifiable targets for intervention and prevention among youth. Visit the Research section of our website to learn more.

The YR² Lab currently spans two universities — the Department of Psychology at Old Dominion University (where Dr. Glenn is currently located) and the Department of Psychology at the University of Rochester (where some of Dr. Glenn’s graduate students conduct research).

The YR² Lab logos were designed by the Ludlow Group.
