Welcome!

Hi, my name is Sinai Pena, and I am currently an Interdisciplinary Studies major at Old Dominion University, expecting to graduate in Spring 2026. I originally pursued Elementary Education, and I plan to continue working toward teacher licensure after completing my degree. My academic and professional experiences have helped shape my passion for working with students and creating supportive and inclusive learning environments.

Throughout my time in school, I have gained hands-on experience as a substitute teacher in K–12 classrooms, as well as a practicum student in a second-grade classroom. These experiences have strengthened my classroom management skills, adaptability, and ability to support diverse learners. Being in real classroom settings has helped me better understand the responsibilities of a teacher and confirmed my goal of pursuing a career in education.

This ePortfolio represents my academic journey and professional growth throughout the Interdisciplinary Studies program. It highlights key skills I have developed, including lesson planning and instruction, classroom experience and student support, and communication and academic writing. Each artifact included reflects an important step in my development as a future educator and demonstrates how my coursework and experiences have prepared me for a career in teaching.
