After watching the video, I believe that, much like other professions, the media portrayed is only as good as the research put into the realism of what is being portrayed. We see in the video examples of well researched examples such as the code used in the Matrix. This code had very recently been discovered when the film first went into production. The film’s team must have had knowledge of or done their due diligence when choosing to use this specific code. I believe much like anything else the media only portrays their own understand and stereotypes of what they believe cybersecurity is or how a “hacker” looks, thinks, and feels.
