Academic Internship

During the Summer 24’, I was granted the opportunity to work as a Cybersecurity Intern for the City of Suffolk. As I completed my internship, I was tasked with completing the CYSE 368 course. This course ensured I completed journals of all the work I did, and provide weekly insights on how I was growing professionally.

Before moving into my Junior year this experience helped me understand the importance of risk management, cybersecurity compliance, and teamwork. I was able to have conversations with employees to grasp the work environment, where many loved what they did, and would describe their journey to their position. I also leaned how to set up a security system using Pato Alto, fundamental practices strengthening security using Microsoft Teams, and attended profesional meetings where the team would discuss the plans to move forward throughout the month.
