The Collapse of FTX: Lessons in Governance, Risk Management, and Digital Trust
In this paper, I analyzed the collapse of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange that failed due to poor leadership, weak internal controls, and ineffective risk management. My research explored how a rapidly growing technology company can fail when business growth takes priority over security, transparency, and accountability.
This assignment helped me better understand the relationship between cybersecurity and entrepreneurship. I learned that protecting an organization goes beyond securing networks and systems; it also requires ethical leadership, effective governance, and strong risk management practices. As I continue my career in cybersecurity, I can apply these lessons to evaluate organizational risks, strengthen security practices, and support innovative business solutions that prioritize both security and customer trust.
