Job Hunting for Cybersecurity Positions

Ever since I started my journey in the cybersecurity field, there has always been an emphasis on how growing of a sector and the demand for cybersecurity positions is in the now and for the future. There are people who may pursue this field because they fell in love with coding, have work experience or see the growing trend of cyber professionals needed because of the technological world we live in. While reading our article of the 50 Cybersecurity jobs, the disciplines that I observed to be a part of these jobs are: Social Sciences with Law, Political Science, Psychology or Humanities with Philosophy, History and finally the Natural Science with Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (Exploring Academic, n.d.). The jobs that I researched were Artificial Intelligence Security Specialist and Red Team Member. As far as skills required go, besides having certain educational backgrounds or certifications, both jobs mention the person’s ability to perform and handle multiple taskings. There are also focuses on organizational management, attaining security clearances and self-discipline is an essential skillset to be able to be competitive in these job fields (Artificial Intelligence, n.d.; Red Team, n.d.). With our college/life/work experience, we gain beneficial skillsets with the ability to handle intense workloads, time management and working with groups. Also, our internships will aid in providing experience that many jobs require. With our 50 jobs article, I found the future job titles surprising like Deepfake Analyst or Implant Device Guardian (Morgan, 2023). I’ve heard about the terms Deepfake or brain chips when it comes to the world of AI, but to see that there will be job titles about them showcases that cybersecurity measures/positions will be entrenched in further technological advances.
