NICE Workforce Framework Journal #1

After reading the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies, I have identified a few areas that I would like to focus my career on, including Implementation and Operations, and Protection and Defense. In my current role as a Behavior Technician, I collect a large amount of data throughout the day and review it with my supervisor, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), on a monthly basis to help improve the students’ behaviors and meet their needs. My current experience makes me a strong fit for a Data Analysis role. Becoming a Vulnerability Analyst aligns with my career path, as I plan to become a Penetration tester someday. I love the idea of finding vulnerabilities and finding ways to defend and protect the system.

Oversight and Governance would probably be my least favorite roles due to the amount of managing responsibilities. For example, a Systems Security Management role appears to be a stressful one. The position requires managing the cybersecurity program, organization, systems, and enclave. To me, that seems like a lot of responsibility for one person to handle. My goal is to have a role that I enjoy, make a difference, and have a good work-life balance.
