Knowing that availability means information is accessible and modified by authorized individuals within an appropriate timeframe. This would further encourage me, as a Chief Information Security Officer, that the company’s main priority is to maintain revenue; therefore, to ensure the availability of systems, I would ensure that critical systems have backups in place. So, if one system goes down or stops functioning, a backup is in place until the issue is resolved. I would also ensure that firewalls are in place to protect against potential attackers. I would work closely with other departments to ensure that protection is aligned across the organization.
