Cybersecurity and information management is one of the most important skills I have developed through my degree program, military service, and professional experience. In both IT and cybersecurity environments, it is critical to protect sensitive information, manage access correctly, and make sure systems are organized in a secure and reliable way. My experience in the Marine Corps Reserve, IT support, and my work as a SharePoint Specialist has helped me better understand how security and information management work together in real organizations. I chose this skill because it connects directly to my career goals in cybersecurity and reflects my experience with access control, permissions management, sensitive information handling, and maintaining secure systems.
Artifact 1: CompTIA Security+ Certification

What I did
To earn this certification, I studied a wide range of cybersecurity topics and prepared for the exam through focused independent study. I learned about protecting systems and networks, identifying vulnerabilities, managing access, and responding to security-related issues. Earning this certification required me to build a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles that apply in both academic and professional environments.
Why this demonstrates cybersecurity and information management
This artifact demonstrates cybersecurity and information management because it reflects my knowledge of the core principles used to protect systems, control access, and secure information. The certification helped strengthen my understanding of how organizations manage risk, protect sensitive data, and maintain secure operations. It also connects directly to my career goal of working in cybersecurity.
Artifact 2: Share Drive to SharePoint Migration and Data Management
What this artifact is
This artifact represents my work supporting the migration of command data from shared drives to SharePoint and helping manage the information after the migration was completed. This included organizing data, supporting access, and helping maintain the structure of the shared area.

What I did
In this role, I helped support the migration of a large amount of command data from the share drive to SharePoint and then assisted with the quality analysis that followed. I worked through user access issues, helped address lost-data concerns and user errors, and supported efforts to keep the information organized and usable. This required me to understand how data should be structured, how access should be handled, and how information management affects both operations and security.
Artifact 3: USMC Cyber Awareness Training Certificate
What this artifact is
This artifact is my USMC Cyber Awareness Training completion certificate. The training was completed through the Marine Corps Distance Learning Network on October 27, 2025, and it focused on cybersecurity awareness and the importance of protecting information in a military environment.

What I did
To complete this training, I learned about cybersecurity awareness, responsible information handling, and the importance of protecting systems and sensitive data. The training reinforced security principles that apply in both military and professional environments. Completing it also strengthened my understanding of how individual actions contribute to overall information security.
Why this demonstrates cybersecurity and information management
This artifact demonstrates cybersecurity and information management because it shows formal training in recognizing security responsibilities and protecting information. Cyber awareness is a fundamental part of maintaining secure systems because organizations rely on individuals to handle information carefully, recognize risks, and follow proper security practices. This training supports my broader background in cybersecurity by showing that I have completed structured instruction related to information protection and security awareness.
