Ahh very nice! Would you use this tool in a library or classroom?

Yes! This question had me thinking about a school library lesson that I had the opportunity to observe this week, where kindergarteners did a Mo Willems study. I think it would be really interesting to collect words from kindergarteners that describe the characters and put them in WordCloud that used the character silhouette. I think it would be very interactive, connect to kindergarten standards (describing words, describe characters, participate in collaborative discussions), and that the students would enjoy the final product! Older kids could do similar things in pairs or individually. In the public library, I think it would be use a word cloud to visually present feedback from patrons about their experiences of the library and the feel they have when entering.

This looks great! I love that you went with your own custom picture. These would be great to use in the classroom for character traits or student comments on books. I will definitely be using these in the classroom.

That’s exactly what I was thinking about when Dr. Kimmel asked the same thing, re: character traits and student comments. I think children would very much enjoy the look of the final product!

This looks awesome! I have used word clouds with older students to introduce themselves, but there are so many ways to use it.

I love this! I love the colors and how they coordinate-even though they are all purple, the shade differences provide some differentiation between the words!

I love your word cloud! What a great use of the book shape! Purple is my favorite color, so I was immediately drawn to every word. I need to explore more with adding my own clip art. That’s a great idea for students, as well.
