This four lesson unit was planned collaboratively between myself, the middle school librarian, and two elective teachers (yearbook, journalism) as the beginning of an inquiry project in which students would create their own documentaries on a teen / school community related topic. Students were guided to develop personal topics of interest, analyze documentaries regarding how they share information, develop a plan to meet their information needs, and begin collecting information from diverse perspectives.
