  1. Why is it important to study a world language?
    1. I think it is important to study a world language because it gives you a connection to a group you may be more isolated from in daily life. It allows you to look at people with more compassion, because it is hard to understand the difficulties of learning a new language until you begin learning a new language. Learning a new language means you can communicate with more people and learn more about different perspectives, customs, and lifestyles, and it is also very important if you wish to travel abroad.
  2. Why are you studying French?
    1. I am studying French because I love learning about other countries and customs. I think it is necessary to gain knowledge of other countries around the world and to be able to communicate with diverse groups of people. I am also very committed to making sure that all parents, regardless of background, feel welcome in my future classroom, which is why I want to have a basic understanding of some languages other than English in order to make contact easier.
