Graduation Student Appreciation Event

Recently, my ILE team and I have submitted an abstract for a grad day competition. Upon the acceptance approval, on March 29th, 2021, we have proposed a poster presentation that will take place in the upcoming next weeks. The poster’s title is “Maximizing Health and Safety and Reducing COVID transmission at Old Dominion University with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) approach.”

IPE Activity

IPE activity took place in spring 2020, and it was delivered by MPH and Dental Hygiene disciplines. The purpose of the activity was to introduce the concept of interprofessional education. Pre-survey and post-survey were conducted to obtain knowledge on the student’s perception of IPE activity. Survey results were promising, and thus faculty decided to publish the work. During the summer, Dr. Akpinar asked me to participate in writing a manuscript. Initially, I was assigned to the literature review, but later on, I have assisted Dr. Denis Claiborne with the discussion part. Currently, the manuscript has been submitted to the American Dental Association Journal and under review process. Document is confidential.

Hand Hygiene in Health Care Workers

The presentation below is part of group project where we selected to topic to represent health care workers and their hand hygiene. We discussed about the difference in using the alcohol based sanitizer and water and soap technique in the health care settings. The presentation was taken place in class on December 11, 2019.
