Frankly, doing cell biology online asynchronously is a soldier’s battle because it is tempting to do the work later, or in my case, often forget its existence. However, it is always one’s responsibility to not fall behind, and I gave my best to not pass most of my work late. It has been a journey with cell biology and I know that taking this class would most definitely help me in future subjects, especially with mitosis and meiosis. It opened my eyes that I MUST know what they are and their differences. That goes along with the Krebs cycle, photosynthesis, and a lot more. I also learned more about biomolecules and their structures as well as functions. I got to have a review of what they are and remember them even better from now on. Though, by far, my favorite part with cell biology is the backpacks and Smart Biology assignments. The backpacks allowed me to be creative, and curious and expanded my knowledge about the whole system of cells and their existence. It allowed me to read other’s curious minds and what they are interested in. It felt like my own digital newspaper that I would scroll through and read questions that piqued my curiosity. As for the Smart Biology, it was fun completing it because I am a visual learner. I enjoy learning things when I can visually see how they work. I also appreciate the dialogues they put underneath the video which allows students to review what has been learned without having to rewatch the whole thing, and a perfect way to take notes without pausing the video. Overall, the knowledge that I will carry with me from this course will surely be use for future references.
