The Characteristic of Prokaryotic Cell:
- Cell Membrane – it is the third layer that controls what enters and leaves the cell.
- Cell Wall- it is the second layer; primarily made of cellulose. They maintain cell shape, protects cell interior, and prevent cell from bursting.
- Capsule- it is the outer layer that carries various of functions (helps cells cling to each other and various surfaces, help prevent cells from drying out, and protection against immune system).
- Pili (Pilus)- it helps cells adhere to the surface, has bacterial conjugation.
- Flagellum- cell movement
- DNA- the basis of genetic information; localized in a region called “nucleus.”
- Ribosome- they make proteins
