- Describe your current methods of study. How do you study for each class? My current study methods are making flashcards or briefly going over notes
-
-
- What specific techniques do you use in class? The only techniques i have used in class was taking notes and writing down examples my professors use to study
- What specific techniques do you use outside of class? I normally use youtube if i don’t completely understand something so i can go at my own pace for learning the material.
- Identify one class in which you are doing well (not HLTH 101). What study methods work best and why? I am doing well in sociology mainly because since so far we have been doing vocabulary definition based quizzes. I use flashcards to memorize most of the terms.
-
Planning
- What strategies will I use to study? I will start to try meeting with people or joining a study group within my class who have a better understanding of the curriculum because maybe they will help me get a better understanding of it.
- How much time do I plan on studying? I plan to start off studying for about an hour with two 15 minute breaks in between.
- Which aspects of the material should I spend more or less time on? I am going to spend more time on breaking down the readings to understand them better.
- To what extent am I taking advantage of all the learning support available to me? I currently am not taking complete advantage of the learning support available to me but I am going to start !
- Am I struggling with my motivation to study? If so, do I remember why I am taking this course? I am definitely struggling with my motivation due to the workload from one class and i am only taking this course because it is required
- Which of my confusions have I clarified? How was I able to get them clarified? So far i have not gotten any of my confusions clarified because i still am not understanding even after i ask questions
- Which confusions remain and how am I going to get them clarified? The confusion remaining is understanding what the readings are talking about and I am going to get them clarified by going to the library and scheduling tutoring to help me out.
- What about my exam preparation that worked well that I should remember next time? Quizlet is normally a great exam preparation for me but I am not sure how to incorporate it with this class if I have knowledge of anything that is being said in class.
- What did not work well that I should not do next time or that I should change? Zoning out and not trying to gain interest in the topics that are being discussed.
- What is one new technique you could try in class to help you better understand the material? Try and jot down notes on what my professor is saying in class and reflect on it
- What is one new technique you could try outside of class to help you better understand the material? Tutoring
