I am pursuing a major in nursing wanting to go into pediatrics in a trauma center

I chose this major because I want to be the first in my family to become a nurse and my grandma inspired me to pursue this career and become a successful nurse. I have always had an interest in the medical field and wanting to help people.

Parallel Major

My parallel major is Human Services. An interesting fact about this major is you can earn experience in case management, counseling theory, and human growth and development. You can also go into a specialization with this major that could include addiction counseling, victim services, development disabilities or youth services. A career under this major is substance abuse which is a support system for people with drug and alcohol problems, eating disorders, and other behavioral issues. They teach individuals how to modify their behavior with the intention of a full recovery. You can gain professional experiences through study abroad programs and also internships available to gain experience.
