Alan Meca, Ph.D.

Dr. Meca joined Old Dominion University as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2017. Dr. Meca received his Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Florida International University and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Public Health Science at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Consistent with the goals of the TARDIS lab, Dr. Meca’s research focuses on identity development across various domains (i.e., ethnic/racial, academic, military, and parental identity) and on the links between identity and psychosocial functioning (e.g., well-being, internalizing and externalizing symptoms, etc.) and health risk behaviors (e.g., alcohol use, risk-sex taking behavior, etc.).
