Select four other majors offered by ODU and explain how those majors relate to cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity is the protection of computer systems and networks from information disclosure, theft of, or damage to their hardware, software, or electronic data, as well as from the disruption or misdirection of the services they provide. When thinking about Cybersecurity the four other majors that relate are cybercrime, criminal justice, information technology, and computer science. I am currently majoring in cybercrime, but this is one of four majors that relate to cybersecurity. When I think about cybercrime I think about crimes that are committed on the internet. Those crimes could vary from hacking to child pornography. In terms of hacking, that is where cybersecurity comes into relation. Criminal justice is another major that relates to cybersecurity. This major focuses on all aspects of the law domestic and international. When we come across breaches in information or hacking of any kind. We refer to the law to determine what is and is not legal. Information technology is a major that focuses on computer systems in terms of storing, retrieval, and sending information. This relates to cybersecurity because knowing basic computer systems will be the basics in terms of understanding how a computer and different databases work. This major is best for businesses because you have to know how to store and protect the data. Lastly, Computer Science is a major that focuses on problem-solving. They also focus on building websites, programs, and mining data. Once you begin learning how to do those things, you can then focus on things like network security that relates to cybersecurity. Once you create that website or program, you have to create the security measures whether it be a firewall to protect the data on the website or in that program.
