One of the first things that I learned about was the concept that people do good deeds in order to improve their own moods. This concept is active in the assignment takeaway in which we were required to do 5 good deeds over a week period. Another concept that I learned was Heuristic processing. This was present in all of the assignment takeaways and top artifacts because it is a natural process that allows the mind to make and use mental shortcuts. The third concept that I learned was self-serving bias which is the tendency to attribute our own positive outcomes to internal causes but negative outcomes to external factors. This concept can be applied to the top artifact with the love questionnaire because the individual taking the questionnaire can say they scored a certain score because of someone or something that inhibits their ability to answer differently. In this, downward and upward social comparisons are talked about, and in another course that I am taking which is cognitive psychology I am to do these labs to which my results are compared to other results found within my class, and in the world.
