Throughout the semester I have really enjoyed getting to know my Pen pal. Mario’s career is super interesting to me and during my interview with him, was kind of the main point of the questions I asked. I think one of the most important questions that came across was what was his career path.
As you can see from this infographic on Mario’s career path it took him a long time to get to where he is now, to him his dream job. Mario went from a production assistant to a featured writer where he really broke into his connections. Even after his success he decided to take a gamble on his career and start up his own podcast all by himself. When Mario told me this I gained a new respect for him and started to really look up to him as a person. That gamble eventually paid off because it resulted in CHGO a podcast and media industry that focuses on all Chicago sports attention. He risked a big part of his career and trusted in himself and that led to him Co-hosting on multiple CHGO podcasts. This leads into the last question I asked Mario, any advice he can give me on my career path? His answer was essentially if I love what I am doing I will be able to work hard enough to reach my goals.
