How do engineers make cyber networks safer?

Cyber networks exist for many reasons, for one they help connect people. Second, they make it easy for people to send data and information between themselves a lot quicker and easier. Lastly cyber networks also give people the ability to learn from the accessibility of information. While cyber networks are helpful, there comes a problem with trying to keep them safe. Certain people have to keep these networks safe, and it can be at sometimes very stressful. Here are a couple ways that they make them safer.

One way is to have them be up to date with rapidly evolving technology. People who attack networks are also getting stronger technology to do this, because of this the networks also need to be more powerful to handle stronger attacks. Updating networks and constantly improving them is always very beneficial. Because people will sometimes design attacks that are meant for a specific network, the network needs to be prepared for any type of attacks. Creating new defenses or changes algorithms can sometimes throw off the attacker and make them waste their time. The constant updates also show to users that the engineers are putting together defenses so the user does not have to worry. Attacks can also execute their plan when someone least expects it, for example while the network is being updated. They will need to be ready at any time, because there might be better times for the attackers to attack.

While making the network strong against virtual attacks is very important, the network also needs to be strong in the physical world too. The systems cannot be too weak or poorly put tether, because the systems will be broken easily, and it could cost money for replacements. The network in some cases might also need to be able to withstand earthquakes or power surges too. Surge protectors and sturdy machines are very important.
