About Me

My name is Kristyn Watkins and I will be graduating from Old Dominion University with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in the Spring of 2026. I am from Richmond, Virginia and in my free time I enjoy cooking, fishing, playing video games, and spending time with my family and friends. I chose nursing due to personal experiences I have had while caring for family members during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through my nursing journey and clinical experiences I have developed communication skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work as a team to provide optimal patient care. I value and appreciate patient-centered care, culturally sensitive care, and holistic care that improves patient status and health outcomes. My professional and personal goals include furthering my education, becoming a nursing educator, providing high-quality care to patients, and promoting health across underserved communities.
