NURS 417: Informatics

Purpose of the Assignment: The purpose of this assignment is to identify the standards associated with telenursing, identify how telehealth can be used to deliver education to patients and providers, and explain the various ways telehealth can be used to provide care to patients.

Student Approach to Assignment: I approached this assignment by identifying ways that telehealth is used to deliver patient education. I mentioned the growth/popularity of telehealth following the COVID-19 pandemic and identified areas that were barriers to accessing telehealth such as technology issues and insurance reimbursements. 

Reason for Inclusion of the Assignment in the Portfolio: The inclusion of this assignment in the portfolio is important because it demonstrates my ability to identify the importance of telehealth in society and understand the ways in which care is delivered. Telehealth and communication devices are becoming a major part of healthcare and it is important to understand how it is utilized.
