Transferable Skills: From Inventorying to Communicating Your Skills and Expertise

Sp22 Transferable Skills Workshop

Identifying transferable skills can be one of the most difficult processes in preparing for a job search. Graduate students are trained to talk about what they know, not what they do. Employers want to know what you can do for their organization and hire based on a combination of skills, knowledge, and experience. Once you have an inventory of the skills you have that employers want, you can begin to communicate your skills and expertise.

Through this recorded webinar by Beyond the Professoriate, you will:

  • Conduct a Skills Inventory to identify the skills and abilities you have learned during your graduate education
  • Identify key skills and core competencies employers are looking for
  • Learn how to communicate your skills and expertise in a way that makes sense to employers

Monday, March 14, 2022 from 12.00 – 1.00 pm
