Mechelle Smith, doctoral student in Public Administration and Urban Policy at ODU’s School of Public Service gave a guest lecture during Tougaloo College’s Disaster and Coastal Studies Research Symposium on April 5, 2019.
Mechelle, who is also Director/Programs Manager of Criminal Justice Services for the City of Norfolk, spoke about her dissertation work related to social vulnerability and hurricane response, focusing on emergency management policy and implementation in a social construction paradigm.
