English 211C Writing, Rhetoric & Research.

Hello everyone! This is my ePortfolio page for my Fall 2024 semester English 211C class. Throughout this course, I learned the fundamentals of proper writing skills, the use of rhetorical language, and, most importantly, how to research topics accurately and thoroughly. As my major is cybersecurity, I was very grateful that many of our assignments focused on researching a thesis relevant to my field. Below, I will showcase several of the assignments I completed throughout this course. I hope you enjoy!

This assignment is my research proposal directed to my professor. In this document, I presented my initial research question and provided a brief overview of the focus of my entire research paper. Additionally, I analyzed one of the main articles I used, further explaining its significance and how it relates to my initial research question. academic career. This document was created as part of a class assignment where
we developed our own resumes for peer review. I received valuable feedback from
my classmates that helped me enhance my final submission. Click the URL and it will take you directly to the assignment! .

Final Reflection:

Throughout this course, I learned the fundamentals of proper writing skills, the use of rhetorical language, and, most importantly, how to research topics accurately and thoroughly. As my major is cybersecurity, I was very grateful that many of our assignments focused on researching a thesis relevant to my field. This not only enhanced my writing abilities but also deepened my understanding of complex cybersecurity concepts and issues. I particularly enjoyed exploring the ethical considerations in cybersecurity practices and the importance of proper communication in the field. Delving into case studies and real-world scenarios allowed me to see the implications of cybersecurity decisions on individuals, organizations, and society as a whole. It was fascinating to analyze how effective communication could mitigate risks and enhance security measures. Collaborating with my peers on projects and receiving constructive feedback from our instructors helped me refine my analytical thinking and argumentation skills. Working in diverse groups also enriched my learning experience, exposing me to different perspectives and approaches to problem-solving. Additionally, I found that honing my ability to present information clearly and persuasively is crucial, especially in a field like cybersecurity, where communicating complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders is often necessary. The course also emphasized the importance of adapting my writing style to suit various audiences, which is a valuable skill in both professional and academic contexts. As I move forward in my studies and career, I feel better equipped to tackle the challenges within the cybersecurity domain. This course has not only strengthened my writing and research abilities but has also fueled my enthusiasm for continuous learning in this rapidly evolving field. I look forward to applying the skills I acquired here to real-world cybersecurity challenges and contributing positively to the industry.
