PHIL 355E

Cybersecurity Ethics

In this course, I examined ethical issues relevant to cybersecurity professionals, including privacy, professional code of conduct, practical conflicts between engineering ethics and business practices, individual and corporate social responsibility, ethical hacking, information warfare, and cyberwarfare. Throughout this course, I was able to gain a broad understanding of central issues in cyberethics and the ways that fundamental ethical theories relate to these core issues. Within this course, I completed a number of case analysis including whistleblowing, professional ethics, and cyberconflict which are included on this page in sub headers. Below, I have included a course reflection which details and summarizes my understanding of this course.

Course Material

In this course, one of the assignments that we were asked to complete was an end of course reflection which summarized what we learned. Therefore, I included three topics that we discussed that stood out to me the most. These topics helped me to gain more insight into certain aspects of cybersecurity and to expand my knowledge from just a surface or basic understanding of what cybersecurity entails.
